The Garmin Fenix 8 series introduces significant upgrades across three size models: 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm, catering to different wrist sizes and preferences. Here's a breakdown of the key differences and shared features across the models:

1: Display and Size
    • The 43mm model has a 1.3-inch AMOLED display, while both the 47mm and 51mm models share a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen. Despite the size differences, the resolution remains crisp across all models: 416 x 416 pixels for the 43mm and 454 x 454 pixels for the 47mm and 51mm versions. The larger models have a bulkier bezel, but this doesn't result in more screen space.

    2: Battery Life

    • The battery performance scales with size. The 43mm offers up to 10 days in smartwatch mode and 28 hours in GPS mode. The 47mm boosts this to 16 days in smartwatch mode and 47 hours in GPS. The largest model, the 51mm, excels with a remarkable 29 days of battery in smartwatch mode and 84 hours in GPS, making it ideal for extended outdoor adventures.

    3: Durability and Design

    • All Fenix 8 models are designed with rugged materials such as titanium and offer a choice of either Corning Gorilla Glass or sapphire crystal for the lens, with sapphire being more durable but pricier. They also feature 10 ATM water resistance, suitable for swimming and shallow diving (rated to 40 meters)

    4: Key Features

    • Shared across all models are features like multi-band GPS, Garmin Pay, music storage, and advanced health monitoring, including heart rate, Pulse Ox, and sleep tracking. New for the Fenix 8 is a built-in flashlight, speaker and microphone for voice commands and calls, and improved mapping and navigation capabilities, including dynamic round-trip routing.

    5: Training and Sensors

    • The Fenix 8 series includes Garmin's latest training metrics, such as VO2 Max, Training Readiness, and ClimbPro for tracking ascent during activities. Additional sensors, including an altimeter, gyroscope, and thermometer, are present in all models, making them highly versatile for outdoor and multi-sport activities.

The Garmin Fenix 8 series delivers exceptional features for outdoor adventurers and athletes, with the larger models being more suited for endurance activities due to their impressive battery life.
